There are times that come along when you begin to question why you have been given a certain position of leadership and if you have what it takes to really carry the full mantle of the responsibility. Questions, when everyone around tells you everything that is wrong with what you are doing and that there is a better way, yet they rarely offer useful suggestions for remedy or (even better) a helping hand to make it better.
There are times when it feels as if it is all too much. You are too tired. You are beat up on all sides. Where saying, “I’m done,” would be a quick and easy end to the frustration.
But in these times it helps to also know that God did in fact call you to do this job, right here and right now. That he has no intention of letting his mission and will fail. That he has this funny way of even taking the mess we find ourselves in and turning it into something beautiful. And no matter how hard things are, how much people complain, and how messy things get, God is still in control and you do, in fact, have everything it takes to accomplish the mission. And so we push forward.
But [God] said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly about my weaknesses, so that Christ’s power may rest on me. That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong. (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NIV)
That is all.
